Plain-language policy

Privacy policy

This document explains, in straightforward language, what FilmForever does with your data — and just as importantly, what it does not do.

1 · Who operates FilmForever

FilmForever is developed and maintained by [Your Name / Studio]. In this policy, we refer to this entity as “we” or “the developer”. Replace this line with your legal or trading name before publishing.

2 · Data stored on your device

FilmForever is designed as a mostly offline, device-based companion for film photographers. The following information is stored locally on your iOS device when you use the app:

  • Film rolls you create and their metadata (format, notes, status).
  • Frame-level information such as aperture, shutter speed, focal length, and lens notes.
  • Optional voice notes you choose to record inside the app.
  • App preferences, such as interface appearance and basic settings.

This data remains on your device unless you explicitly back it up via iOS/iCloud or export it using features provided by the operating system.

3 · What we do not collect

The developer does not run a server that stores your film rolls, exposure data, or voice notes. Specifically:

  • We do not upload your logs or notes to a custom backend controlled by the developer.
  • We do not sell your data to third parties.
  • We do not use your content for advertising or profiling.

4 · Third-party services

FilmForever may rely on Apple’s platform services (for example, the App Store, iCloud backups, and crash reporting mechanisms provided by Apple) as part of normal iOS app distribution and operation.

You should review Apple’s own privacy policy and documentation to understand how Apple processes device-level analytics, diagnostics, and backups.

If you add any other third-party services or SDKs in future versions of the app, list and describe them clearly here before publishing this policy.

5 · Analytics

By default, we do not embed our own analytics SDKs in FilmForever. Anonymous, aggregated analytics provided by Apple (such as standard App Store Connect statistics) may be used to understand generic usage and performance patterns of the app.

If you decide to integrate any third-party analytics solutions at a later date, update this section and the app’s in-product disclosures accordingly.

6 · Data retention and deletion

Because FilmForever stores your data locally on your device, you are in control of how long it is kept.

  • Deleting the app from your device removes the local data associated with it.
  • If your device is backed up (for example, using iCloud), your FilmForever data may be included in those backups.
  • You can clear individual rolls or notes from within the app by deleting them manually.

7 · Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights regarding your personal data, such as the right to access, correct, or delete it.

Because FilmForever does not maintain its own user accounts or cloud storage, most of your control is exercised directly through your device and system settings. If you contact us about your data, we will do our best to respond in a clear, honest, and timely way.

8 · Contact

For questions about this privacy policy, you can contact the developer at:

9 · Changes to this policy

If this privacy policy changes, we will update the text on this page and may also reflect the change in the app’s version notes. We encourage you to review it from time to time.
